KJB Stamp Sales Postal Auction 117 contains thirty six A4 pages of well decribed
and profusely illustrated Lots.
The catalogue contains some excellent Australian collections inc. (i)1913-81 FU, MLH and MUH, (ii) Kangaroos
(all watermarks) then KGV specialised inc. (i) comprehensive single wmk, (ii) comprehensive LMW, No Wmk, SMW Perf 14,
SMW Perf 13 1/2 and C ofA, and (iii) KGV Perf OS (all wmks).
In addition there is a terrific range of Kangaroos with all watermarks represented, with estimates in the range
$10 to $750.
The Australian King George V section includes an exceptional array of specialised material including Single
Watermark 1d Red 'Run N, First State' MLH; 1d Brown-red ACSC 71w, Die II; 4d Lemon 'Inverted Watermark' with 30 April
1916 CDS; 4d Lime-yellow ACSC110D; 2d Orange 'Cracked Electro' ACSC 95(U)o; 2d Red 'Retouched Face' ACSC 96(14)e; 4d
Violet 'Line Through Fourpence Retouched' SG 64b; a perfectly centred 4d Blue 'Inverted Watermark' with a January 1924
Millgrove Vic. CDS; 1/4d Blue 'Dry Ink' ACSC 128c, plus much, much more in single watermark and also in LMW, SMW both
perfs and C of A Watermark.
The Australian Pre-decimal section contains a couple of 5/- Bridges and a fine range of specialised material,
noting 2d Red 'Coil Pair' MUH, a couple of BCOF 'Wrong Founts', a range of 'Thin Papers', some very scarce 2/6d Aborigine
varieties and 3 1/2d Royal Visit 'Retouch to Duke's Forehead' among many others. There is also a fine range of the better
'straight' material. The Decimal section features an extensive range of major listed varieties in positional pieces.
The Australian Colonial States section contains nothing really scarce, but it has a good range of middle of
the road material across the board.
The British Commonwealth & World section focuses mainly on British Commonwealth but there is an extensive
range of used 1872-1945 Germany. The British Commonwealth ranges from 'A' (Aden) to 'Z' (Zanzibar) and includes a good
few nice listed specialised items. There is also an extended run of useful British Levant, Falkland Islands and Rhodesia.
All in all there should be something for everbody.
